Actually, it goes deeper
than that, they still
have many new cavern
area left to be open to
the public. The natural
gift was spectacular,
but what the local
government did to the
atmosphere is terrible,
particularly the
lighting and the trail.
I can't find any good
angle without exposing
to the horrific 'color'
fluorecent light. It is
so bad i turned this
picture to black and
white and then add in
color filter back on.
But as you can see, the
form of cavern itself is
beautiful.
Tham Le Khao Kob is an
eco-tourism and
adventure tourism
attraction, concealed
under the huge single
limestone mountain where
is surrounded by a
stream that is also
running through it.
Inside the cave of Tham
Le Khao Kob, the
significant stalagmites
and stalactites are
available along the trip
during taking a boat
into it. There are some
other grottos in the
cave such as Tham Khon
Than, Tham Chao Sao,
Tham Rak Sai, etc. |

Visiting the cave, it is
necessary to take a boat
ride along the stream
through the cave alternating
with walking to see the
beauty of stalagmites and
stalactites. The most
prominent point of the cave
that impresses all tourists
is that everyone must lie
flat on the boat to get
through along some 350
meters long exit. At the
middle of the hole, it looks
like the backbone of a
dragon. So some people
believe that passing through
the hole is an auspicious
activity as if going through
under the belly of a dragon.
Going there. Tham Le Khao
Kob is situated about 35 KM
from Amphure Muang, at Moo
1, 10 of Tambon Khao Kop,
Amphur Huai Yot, Trang. It
is under responsibility of
the Sub-district
Administration Organization
of Khao Kop. Going there is
quite convenient, taking the
bypass road from
Or-tor-kor Intersection
(highway 419 and 403). Turn
left at Andaman
Intersection, going further
for other 3 KM to Ban Khao
Kop then turn left and take
the concrete road of The
Office of Accelerated Rural
Development for 700 meters
to its Tourist Center of
Tham Le Khao Kop. Or else,
taking Petkasem Road
(Highway 4 from Trang to
Krabi), pass the town of
Huai Yot for 7 KM then turn
left to the road of The
Office of Accelerated Rural
Development for 700 meters
to the Tourist Center of
Tham Le Khao Kop.
The cave is accessible all
year long. The Sub-district
Administration Organization
of Khao Kop provides boats
at the rate of 200 Baht (not
exceeding to 6 people).
